Problem Solving

Shoy Rey

This week I am going to provide some information about how I successfully solved some of my "College Life" problems. I found myself scrambling to complete homework assignments the night before they were due. Thus, giving me migraines and raising my stress level pretty high. After recognizing what was happening to me, I decided to create a One Step At A Time chart and a Ranking Priorities List. The both Problem Solving Strategies that I have chosen has helped me with all my courses.

The Ranking Priorities List helped me this week because I would have normally done the easiest tasks first, which would essentially waste all the time I would have had to do other important tasks. Within the priority list, I identified ALL the tasks that I needed to do for the day/week/weekend. Then, I made sure to do the most important task first, leading down the least important task. This has helped me greatly, and I no longer get migraines.

Now, the One Step At A Time Strategy seemed most effective to me. I was able to identify the main problem I had and generate a list of things I could do to limit the problem from happening. I came up with a proposal to myself that whenever I am assigned homework, I will complete it at evening time on the same day.
Therefore, I will know that I have completed it, and won't have to worry about it the night before class.
Identifying the consequences had really helped me to change my ways because there can be greater ones along the way.

Always identify your problem, and find a solution quickly before it's too late!

  1. Ranking Priorities is a good strategy I tried it in my weekly schedule and it helped me to manage my time more and be better in managing it. And when doing the assignments the same day it helps you to remember the information in easily.

  2. I know that when i ranked my priorities for my classes it really helped me out a lot. I found myself doing larger assignments on time and more efficiently while the small assignments were still getting done.

  3. I can definitely relate to your One Step at a Time chart. I like to try and complete assignments a day before its due. It kind of takes the stress off rushing to get it done.
